I'm at Chapter 15 - they are fairly long chapters. It's OK, but MC isn't utilising his Regression properly at all.He has absolutely no talent for anything at all, which he has known since before his first regression. Yet in all of them he has made Martial Arts his primary focus. He does learn some other skills throughout each life, but they are all only mentioned in passing as side things. The only one who really benefits from his regression is his talented friend. Each time the friend gives MC an inheritance to pass on to others in the future, but since he always regresses after 50 years he passes it back to him at the start so that he can go even further beyond.MC never really uses his future knowledge, other than to benefit his friend and the organisation his friend sometimes creates. He basically uses his Regression as extra practice time to make up for his lack of talent, rather than as a benefit he can use to exploit and "predict" the future. It's still pretty interesting, and the MC isn't particularly stupid/dumb, just unimaginative when it comes to his power, I guess. I'm hoping he improves going forward - it's still fairly early so I will continue reading on for now.
Bro he can't use his knowledge in rhe first few regressions cause it never worked. At the start of each he tried to change things but u will know in the future that it never changed much and in the world of cultivators his knowledge of mudane martial world is useless. He is f#cking talentless , he only has his will to end his endless regressions moving him forward at the start. Thats y he is doing everything to help his friend cause he knows he will create the martial arts to breakthrough to qi refining. Its gets better as it goes on
This novel had the charms upto 60 chapters after that it went down hill with repetition, Righteousness Mc that doesn't want anything related to evil...In 900 yrs he forgets about modern day mobile but still wants to save the bullying boss and female employe like he wants to save the children....All chapters are depressing... He walks around characterizing others as mad..but the protagonist himself turns into sad & he himself doesn't know that he has fallen into depravity madness righteous Protagonist syndrome....Very Bad experience I myself wanted to through this in trash...
I'm sorry but wtf did you expect from a Regression Novel? Like holy f#ck dude it's a given that he's going to forget, be angry, depressed, and have repetition.Go cultivate some more fellow Daoist cause you're about to fall to your Heart Demons
You should go read "My Longevity Stimulator" and see how much better a story can get with the same setting if MC isnt a naive stubborn fool with a hero complex. The main problem with this MC is that he fail to assimilate with the new world and stubborn stuck to morality from a different world which is the source of most of his suffering.
Funny enough I am reading that.Anywho uh...yeah I gotta disagree. The Main Character of Longevity rarely grows/changes and even if he does you barely notice it because it doesn't show a contrast between him at the start and endThat's why RTOC is so good is because it shows his growth, it shows him struggling, it shows him at his best and worst moments. It gets us to empathize, understand, and know him better then the MC of Longevity. It allows us to understand his decisions, his "naivity"Speaking of naivity he is not a stubborn, naive, heroic fool. He's human and is actively trying to remain human. If you gave this even 10 minutes of your timeSpoileror however long it took to find the more f#cked up details of the worldyou'd understand that.Yes, I understand that people have different tastes or appreciate different characters but to call something that barely has an ounce of Character Growth better is on par with SpaceBattles thinking Character Development(This ended quite a bit of mine and other people's favorites. RIP the Conceptual Deck and the First? Gamer one here)involves only suffering and pain. It's understandable but there is so much more depth and nuance to it.Anywho uh...have a great day mate.Oh and quick question cause my friends won't answer it, pickles on pizza or on spaghetti?
They are totally different. My longevity system mc was born in that era and already experienced all the treachery and hardships and evils of humans . This mc is a f#cking human in his 20s from earth who is a talentless as me and still trying to do everything he can to continue forward. In my longevity system, mc knew of cultivators very early on and found ways to get them for himself and start his journey. Here he didn't even know about them until end of 2nd or 3rd regression. That one is a cultivation novel with regression added into the mix . U know it cause he had SpoilerTime limit of about a 1000 total years of mental age before he would die of mental overload at the start itself. He had a system , here mc has nothing, he has no system and doesn't know how the world works at the start .This one shows wht time does to someone especially in later arc/regression . Its soo beautifully showcases emotional journey of a native kind hearted human who is trying his very best to not lose his humanity . It has cultivation but its not the main focus .
Fellow daoist i agree with your statement
I like this quite a bit. Whenever I'm reading this it feels like the determination is coming inside of me. It's slow but i guess that's to be expected when it's a truly talentless guy that can only advance due to his ability to regress. The world's alright, mostly standard xianxia stuff. The translation can also be stiff but it's alright. I feel like the characters are really the driving force of this story. It's depressing at times(most of the time), and you can feel the sadness and all the other emotions that the MC feels. Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the fight scenes are really good in this. Even if you don't like the tragedy aspect the action is worth it.3.75* Translation4* world4.5* story5* characterTotal: 4.3* (personal 4.7*)Overall, a great and emotional novel.
I don't really like it. It's really slow paced and is just depressing all the time.
This is the same genre of novel as "Shadow Slave", extremely well written but heart wrenching tragedies again and again and again... excessively imo. -- Read, if you like MC who likes to burn himself so he can warm someone else for a night even knowing that action is going to be meaningless since that person is..lets say, poisoned and will die without doubt.(and he can change this next time he regress) but You have to sit and read the whole night of misery of mc's buring flesh and soul while that person beg MC to stop since they're both going to die but mc not stopping since its the "right thing to do" and suddenly by morning you learn mc accidentally cause forest fire that burn down the orphanage. OH, its not over yet...in the orphanage he might find the the remains of his friend's only child and when he die in such soul crushing despair and sorrow, he go back and repeat another cycle that even worse than this one. If you think my example is bad, you are NOT ready for what's in the book.
This covel novel is like a BL novel
I am at chapter 51 right now while this story is very well written and is very interesting, expect soul crushing tragedy, repeatedly. And things just keep getting worse and worse and worse. There are some nice, things are getting better moments, but they are all bittersweet and tragedy follows soon after.I vote to rename this story as the "Repeatedly Tortured Soul's Tale in Cultivation".
no homo?
I don't know if it's only me. But after ch94, there is a change in the personality of the mc.
Seems good from the synopsis.I'm currently reading another novel and will come back to read it after that.So meanwhile those who are reading can Grace me by saying how it is
Do u mind sharing what the novel you are reading is called? I am DESPERATE for new reads.

What did you read to get those dislikes button
Maybe that's society for you
Its f#cking good man. I stopped after around 200 cause i waiting for chapters to stack . Its one of the best emotional driven novels i read. If u are here for a pure cultivation andrenaline face slapping, ull be disappointed. Author knows wht he is doing in each regression and i think they will come together in some way in the end . Bookmark it cause it rocks
Yeah I bookmarked it before
